Cedar Lodge has officially been awarded BREEAM-in-Use certification, achieving a ‘Very Good’ rating. As an internationally recognised certification scheme, BREEAM-in-USE measures and improves the environmental performance of operational buildings across their lifecycle.
To reach this certification, we had to change the layout and operational structure. Technology was an integral part of Cedar Lodge reaching this certification, for example, Utopi sensors in each room monitoring CO2 levels, humidity, quality of oxygen and noise level. We also integrated BMS controls for heating which can be accessed through an app – allowing staff to control each room at all times.
Our collaboration with DLC Europe has enabled us to strengthen our approach to responsible, sustainable development. The outcome reflects strong performance across key sustainability areas, including resources, energy, and health and wellbeing.
